Over the past two decades, we’ve helped thousands of Pennsylvania homeowners go solar, and we’ve installed systems for many of the organizations that anchor their communities. Our solar installation at the Bucks County Audubon Society’s Honey Hollow Environmental Education Center in Solebury supports the center’s educational mission, while the system at Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia’s affordable housing development helps reduce electricity costs for the families who will live there. At The Philadelphia School, the system our team designed and installed powers the school and gives students a firsthand look at how solar works. These are a few of the many community projects we’ve completed across Pennsylvania.
Some of the most helpful perspectives on solar come from our own customers. Through the ASES National Solar Tour, they share their experiences with neighbors who are considering solar and want to hear from someone who has been through the process.
This commitment has been recognized throughout the region. Exact Solar has been named Philly’s Favorite Solar Installer by The Philadelphia Inquirer and Best of the Region by the Bucks County Herald, received the Pennsylvania Solar Center’s Lodestar Award, and has been honored for our community involvement by the Greater Philadelphia Civic 50 for several consecutive years.
Newtown is our home. Learn about our installations throughout Bucks County, partnerships with local organizations, and participation in community events.

Going solar in Pennsylvania starts with understanding the property itself. A Philadelphia row home, a shaded suburban roof, and a larger school or municipal building each present different design needs, and some properties are better suited to a ground-mounted system than a rooftop array. Our in-house team evaluates available space, shading, roof condition, and electricity use before recommending a system that fits your goals.
Local experience matters just as much as system design. After two decades of installing solar across Pennsylvania, our team knows the local permitting and utility approval processes, including those of PECO, PPL, Met-Ed, and other utilities throughout the state. Because the same in-house team handles design, permitting, installation, and service, we never hand your project off to subcontractors. That continuity is one of the most important things to look for in a Pennsylvania solar installer, and it’s what allows us to support your system for years after it’s installed.
Generate electricity at home with a solar system designed around your household’s needs. Our team will explain the design, answer your questions, and help you consider whether battery storage belongs in your plans.
Help manage your organization’s electricity costs with solar for a business, school, nonprofit, or public facility. We evaluate the building and energy use to develop a practical project.
Keep your system working with troubleshooting, repairs, and ongoing support. Our service team can also review requests for systems originally installed by another company.
Once your system is designed, the next decision is how to pay for it. Our team will walk you through expected production, costs, and any applicable Pennsylvania programs, then help you compare your payment options, including a cash purchase, a solar loan, a prepaid lease, and our solar power purchase agreement (PPA), so you can decide with confidence, no pressure.
Exact Solar also advocates for clean energy policy at the local, state, and national levels, from strengthening Pennsylvania’s renewable energy standards to protecting federal solar incentives. We do this because we care about our customers, and the decisions made in Harrisburg and Washington directly affect their electric bills and solar savings. That involvement keeps our team’s guidance grounded in the policies behind every project. Through This Week in Solar, we also speak with local voices like solar policy pioneer Ron Celentano and PennEnvironment’s Belle Sherwood about what these changes mean for Pennsylvania.
Electric rates, utility programs, and tax credits in Pennsylvania change often, and each change can affect what solar means for your home or organization. Our team follows these updates closely and explains them in plain terms, so you can understand how they apply to you.

Exact Solar is an official installer partner of Solarize Greater Philadelphia, a regional initiative helping homeowners and businesses access solar through participating installers.
The program serves Philadelphia and the surrounding Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties. Our participation is one way we work with local partners to help more Pennsylvanians take the first step in their solar journey.
Solar looks different for every property. Our solar installations across Pennsylvania include homes, schools, businesses, and community organizations, each with its own energy needs and reasons for going solar.
I am very happy we chose Exact Solar for our solar installation. I ultimately chose them because of their reputation. Choosing the right installer is about getting the installation done right and having the same high level of service after the installation is complete. The entire process of quote, contract signing, scheduling and install was smooth and professional. The installation team was great. Our solar production is already ahead of forecast.

We love Exact Solar – from the beginning stages to the end, we had questions about solar (not knowing much about it at the onset). Every person we worked with was knowledgeable, passionate about solar, and patiently answered our questions. We left the process understanding and LOVING our solar system. We cannot say enough positive things about them. If you are interested in Solar for your home or business, you will be in the best hands with them!

I started working with Exact Solar in June 2021. They were consistently responsive and very helpful in all aspects of the design and permitting part of the process. Once the necessary approval and supply issues were taken care of, the installation itself was completed quickly and professionally, with the system going online in December/January. Exact Solar was also very helpful with setting up net metering and SREC accounts. I highly recommend their services!

Look for an installer with local experience, its own installation crews rather than subcontractors, clear warranties, and a team that will service your system after it’s installed. Exact Solar has installed solar across Pennsylvania since 2005, and the same in-house team handles your design, permitting, installation, and long-term service. Read our guide to choosing a solar installer.
The cost depends on your system’s size, your roof or available land, the equipment you choose, and how you pay. Because every property is different, we start with a free estimate based on your home and electricity use. See what affects the cost of solar, or request your free estimate.
You can purchase your system with cash or a solar loan, choose a prepaid lease, or go solar through our solar power purchase agreement (PPA). Each option affects ownership, incentives, and your monthly costs differently, and our team will walk you through them side by side. Compare your payment options.
For many Pennsylvania homeowners, yes. Net metering, SRECs, rising electricity rates, and flexible payment options can still make solar a strong long-term investment, though the answer depends on your property and how you use electricity. Our team will give you a clear estimate of the costs and savings for your home. Read our full breakdown.
Pennsylvania’s electric utilities, including PECO and PPL, offer net metering for customer-owned solar systems. When your panels produce more electricity than you use, the extra power flows to the grid and you receive a credit on your bill, which offsets the electricity you draw from the grid at other times. The details vary by utility, so our team will explain how net metering applies to your account. See how solar savings are calculated.
Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs) represent the clean energy your system produces. A system earns one SREC for every 1,000 kilowatt-hours it generates, and those credits can be sold in Pennsylvania’s SREC market to add value beyond your electricity savings. SREC prices change with the market. Learn more about SRECs.
Yes. Our in-house team manages permitting with your township and the utility approval process, so you don’t have to coordinate those steps yourself. Because the same team handles every step, your project is never handed off to subcontractors, and we’ll keep you updated from design through system activation.
Yes. A home battery stores the electricity your panels produce so you can use it later, including for backup power during an outage. PECO customers with an eligible battery may also be able to earn rewards through PECO’s Flex & Save program. We can design battery storage into a new solar system and evaluate whether it can be added to an existing one. Learn about solar plus storage.
Yes. Through our Solar Orphan Service®, our service team reviews requests from Pennsylvania homeowners and businesses whose systems were installed by another company, including companies that are no longer in business. Learn about Solar Orphan Service®.
Yes. Solar panels produce electricity whenever they receive daylight, and they operate efficiently in cool temperatures. Production is lower in winter when days are shorter, which is why we design each system around its expected output over a full year rather than any single season.
Whether you’re planning a solar installation for your Pennsylvania home or business or need help with an existing system, our team can answer your questions, explain your options, and help you decide what comes next.
