We are thrilled to announce that Exact Solar has been recognized as a Civic 50 Greater Philadelphia honoree for the third year in a row.
Service to our community is at the core of everything that Exact Solar does. It always feels great to be recognized for our efforts in helping our neighbors!
Each Year, the Civic 50 (put on by the nonprofit Points of Light) recognizes the 50 most civic-minded businesses in metropolitan areas around the country, using their time, talent, and resources to impact their communities.
Civic 50 honorees are private and public companies that are selected and honored based on four dimensions of community engagement:
- Investment of resources
- Integration across business functions
- Institutionalization through policies and systems
- Impact measurement
Companies are judged by a third-party service called True Impact, which assesses each company and gives them an objective score based on the applications they submit.
Why Exact Solar is Being Honored
Throughout the past year, we’ve been actively involved in community initiatives like:
Building a Solar System at Aspira Charter School
Earlier this year, we installed a very non-typical solar system at ASPIRA Charter School in North Philadelphia. This system powers a greenhouse and two “grow towers” on site, supporting the school’s eco-friendly education program. The produce grown will be used in a student-run on-site “restaurant” to feed parents and staff and sold by students at local farmers’ markets.
We’re planning a ribbon-cutting in September to celebrate the great work ASPIRA is doing, and planning to have several non-profits, state reps, and press members in attendance. If you’d like to be involved, contact our Marketing and Advocacy Specialist, Aaron Nichols, at aaron.nichols@exactsolar.com for more information.
Partnering with Solarize Philly
Exact Solar partners with Solarize Philly, a subsidiary of the Philadelphia Energy Authority dedicated to accelerating Philadelphia’s renewable energy goals.
This cooperative purchasing program connects individuals and organizations interested in “going solar” with high-quality, vetted installers. Solarize Philly recognizes Exact Solar as one of the highest-quality installers in the Philadelphia area.
Additionally, we partner in a similar capacity with Solarize Delco and Solarize Southeast PA.
Fighting to Update the AEPS
We’re actively lobbying to update Pennsylvania’s Alternative Energy Portfolio Standard (AEPS), which mandates the state’s renewable power investment.
This outdated standard needs revision to keep Pennsylvania competitive in renewable energy. If you’d like to learn more, we’ve published two informative articles on our blog explaining this issue and how we’re fighting to update it:

Sponsoring the 60th Annual OIC Philadelphia Gala
We proudly sponsored the 60th annual OIC Philadelphia gala, where our own Cailynn Chase spoke about their experience with OIC’s training programs. The gala included a promotional film featuring Cailynn, and PECO’s Mike Innocenzo was recognized as the 2024 Workforce Partner Award recipient.

Want to Get in On The Action?
Without the hundreds of homeowners and commercial property owners who have invested in solar systems, we wouldn’t be able to do the exciting work we do in our community.
Investing in a solar system is one of the best things you can do for your community and neighborhood. You’ll reduce your emissions, contribute to the strength of the local grid, and reduce or eliminate your power bills!
The best thing you can do is meet with an expert team member from a reputable local installer to find out how much you can save and earn with solar power.
