Summer in Review

Making a Difference Where It Matters Most

Exact Solar has made great strides in increasing our community involvement this year. We are thrilled to share some highlights of the events we sponsored in the past few months. In the summer, we sponsored a range of local events, including Newtown Welcome Day, the Bluegrass and Blueberries Festival at Peddler’s Village, the Middletown Grange Fair, and Souderton Third Friday. As we headed into the fall, we also sponsored the Doylestown Arts Festival and Newtown Vet’s Pet Fair. We would like to extend a special thank you to our team members who attended these events and represented us so well. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be involved in the community and to educate them about the many benefits of solar energy.

Exact Solar Shines Bright with Recent Industry Awards

Exact Solar has been making waves in the solar industry! Over the past few months, we have been nominated for and received several prestigious awards. These accolades are a testament to our unwavering commitment to sustainability, clean energy, and community involvement.

One of the most notable awards Exact Solar received is the Top Solar Contractor recognition from Solar Power World, which we have earned for ten years in a row. This recognition reflects Exact Solar’s dedication to providing excellent service to our customers and outstanding installation work. Exact Solar installed 2,188.44 kW in 2022, ranking 292 overall and 21st among all PA installers.

For the second year running, leading civic organization Points of Light recognized Exact Solar as one of the 50 most community-minded businesses in Greater Philadelphia. Moreover, we were also the proud recipient of the Community’s Choice Award in the Solar Services category presented by the Courier Times. These awards reflect our commitment to making a positive difference in our local community and inspire us to continue our excellent work.

We are pleased to announce that Exact Solar has been nominated for the 2023 Best of the Region award in the Energy/Solar Company category by the Bucks County Herald. Additionally, we were recently nominated for the 2023 Groundbreaker Awards in the Equity and Community Leadership category by Green Building United. Although we did not win the latter, it’s an honor to be nominated, and it demonstrates our team’s commitment to equity and leadership within the community. You can still show your support by voting for us in the Best of the Region awards by clicking this link. Don’t forget to share it with your friends and family, too!

The recent recognition that Exact Solar has received is a testament to our continued success in providing clean energy to our community. It wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of each and every team member who shares our mission and vision. We are grateful for your commitment to positively impacting our planet and community!

Celebrating our Dedicated Employees

Contributed by Nicholas Del Grosso

Let’s celebrate a few of our outstanding team members who have reached significant milestones on their journey with Exact Solar in October!

First, we would like to congratulate Julia Koval on her second anniversary with us. Julia’s role as our Project and Scheduling Coordinator is integral to the success of Exact Solar’s pre and post-installation processes. Her friendly and welcoming personality ensures our customers feel comfortable throughout the process.

Next, we are proud to recognize Dzmitry Tayanka on his third anniversary with Exact Solar. Over the past three years, Dima has been a driving force behind many of our most successful projects. His leadership skills and expertise in complex installations make him an invaluable team member.

We are also excited to celebrate James Riggs on his third anniversary with Exact Solar. As our lead engineer, James has been instrumental in the successful completion of countless projects. His knowledge of solar PV installations continues to grow daily, making him an essential asset to our team.

Lastly, we want to congratulate Nkululeko Magwaza on his first anniversary with Exact Solar. Leko has proven to be a valuable team member, excelling in his roles as roof foreman, service technician, and site survey technician. His positive attitude and infectious smile make him a joy to work with.

Thank you, Julia, Dima, James, and Leko, for your hard work and dedication to Exact Solar. We are proud to have you as part of our team and look forward to seeing your continued success.

ASES National Solar Tour

This month, Exact Solar proudly sponsored the 2023 ASES National Solar Tour, a unique event that provides individuals and communities with the opportunity to explore solar systems and learn about sustainable living practices. The tour, which took place from October 6th to 8th, showcased solar installations nationwide as homeowners and businesses opened their doors to share their experiences with visitors.

By sponsoring this event, Exact Solar actively supports ASES’s mission to educate communities about the advantages of solar energy and sustainable living. The partnership allows Exact Solar to connect with the general public, local communities, and potential customers while contributing to the promotion of renewable energy solutions.

As part of the tour, Exact Solar hosted our own local tour in the Philadelphia region, featuring a hybrid of in-person and virtual tour sites. Our team professionally produced nearly 20 customer interview videos and photo sets, complemented by case studies, to showcase the real-life benefits of solar energy. These stories are beneficial for new potential solar homeowners to watch and learn from as they demystify solar, build trust, and make the process less confusing.

Although the in-person tour dates have passed, you can still check out our virtual tour sites by clicking here!

Looking Ahead

The holiday season is quickly approaching, bringing with it a flurry of activity. As we approach the end of our 2023 event season, we are excited to have one of our final sponsorship opportunities with the Bucks County Lodge #53 of the Fraternal Order of Police fundraising event at Morrisville High School on November 11th. Exact Solar is sponsoring this event, which promises to be a fun night with musical performances and delicious food. Keep an eye out for their announcements on their website for more details about the event.

We are also excited to share that our team has submitted an RFP to work with Solarize Philly, a citywide program aimed at making it easy and affordable for Philadelphians to go solar. The Philadelphia Energy Authority (PEA) launched Solarize Philly to improve access to clean energy for all neighborhoods. PEA has carefully selected vetted installers and high-quality equipment for solar panels and energy storage systems, as well as negotiated discounted prices and important consumer protections to help Philadelphians go solar at their homes and businesses. We are eagerly awaiting the outcome of our application and want to thank our team members who assisted with our submission for their hard work.

Exact Solar is now a part of the PennDOT Adopt-a-Highway program, where we have “adopted” a stretch of road located just 10 minutes away from our office on Worthington Mill Road (between Second Street Pike and Swamp Road). As part of this program, we have pledged to organize two volunteer cleanup dates every year, and our first event will take place on November 18th. We are calling for volunteers who would like to donate their time to cleaning up our community. We welcome children and families to join us, and PennDOT will provide all the necessary supplies. This would be an excellent opportunity to teach your children the value of community service and make a positive impact on our environment. To participate, please send a Slack message or email to Alyssa so we can have an accurate headcount for supplies. Additional details, including the location and time of our meeting, will be provided closer to the date. We can’t wait to see everyone there!

We’re very excited to announce that our annual company holiday party is tentatively scheduled for December 1st! Stay tuned for more details!

Exact Solar was a pleasure to deal with every step of the way. There was no pressure to sign on as I was considering proposals and they were happy to answer any questions I had. Once I did sign on, they kept me updated with the status of the project and what to expect moving forward. The installers and electrician were courtious and terrific to deal with and also happily answered my questions as they were working. I highly recommend Exact Solar if you are considering a PV Solar project!

Check out our latest Google review from a satisfied customer, Gary Yannaccone, who resides in Horsham, PA. Mr. Yannaccone discovered Exact Solar through EnergySage, one of our primary lead sources, which allows consumers to compare and research solar companies. We want to congratulate our team for their hard work and dedication that has resulted in another satisfied customer. Thank you for ensuring our customers are well-informed, educated, and, most importantly, happy with their solar experience.

We also received an exciting update from one of our recent customers! This customer reached out to Joe Robinson, their sales engineer, to express their satisfaction with their first solar-powered electric bill. The results are amazing – their bill dropped by over $150! We would like to give a huge shoutout to our dedicated team for ensuring yet another satisfied customer. Our commitment to providing the best service and support is what sets us apart, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to help our customers achieve their solar goals while contributing to a greener planet. Let’s continue making a positive impact together!

A Note from Doug

“The future depends on what we do in the present.”
– Mahatma Gandhi
“Look forward to the future, but live in the present.”

We recently celebrated an exciting milestone of 2 years since we bought the business from Mark and Dara and that naturally has created the opportunity for a bit of reflection. It’s been a time of exciting growth, change, and building. It’s really incredible to look back at where we were then, and how much we’ve put in place and worked hard to improve – together. I’m so proud of our team – the overall dedication, team-first attitude, customer focus, and accountability. These are the building blocks of great organizations, and we have it in spades.

Thinking about where we’ll be 2 years or 4 years from now is quite thrilling. While we’ve grown a lot and have much to be proud of, we certainly still have much to work on, many cracks to still address. But I feel that we’re being realistic about those areas of improvement, and actively discussing how to address them. Building is hard, feels very slow, and can be frustrating. But looking back and looking forward occasionally give you the motivation to keep going. Please don’t forget to do this for yourself individually, and contribute your ideas for the future to us as a team.
As long as we are always working hard to get better, we’ll always be creating more opportunities for ourselves and our teammates. We’ll also always be proud of the products and services we deliver, and how we deliver them. This says much about us, and is so important. It feels great to work as part of a great organization and know that we have a solid reputation, not from the past but from today’s hard work and customer focus. Reputations are quickly lost. If you aren’t working today equal to your reputation, it’s only a matter of time before that reputation recalibrates.

Let’s enjoy the year ahead, and keep relentlessly focused on getting better and doing more for our customers than ever before. I’m really excited to come up for air again next October and see how we did. In the meantime, it’s such a privilege to work with everyone here. Thank you so much for all that you’ve contributed to this company.

I look forward to seeing everyone soon for the year-end holiday get-together.

Best,
Doug
