Light Up the World by Supporting Solar on #GivingTuesday

Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday 2016 are in the history books. You’ve eaten your weight in mashed potatoes and turkey. You survived the insanity of Black Friday, or took advantage of the sales from the comfort of your couch on Cyber Monday. Now it’s time to give back — Happy #GivingTuesday!

Exact Solar is proud to support solar energy non-profits that are working to light up the world. Each year, we make a donation in the names of each customer whose solar energy system was installed that year. It is up to us to support the organizations that are working to better the world through clean energy initiatives. Here are a few non-profits that you can donate to this #GivingTuesday.

  1. Solar Electric Light Fund (SELF) works to provide energy to the 1.5 billion people around the world living in energy poverty. Energy produced by fossil fuels is expensive, and those living in poverty around the world do not live with the luxury of electricity and clean water on demand. But solar can produce energy at no cost for these areas of the world. The organization has ongoing projects in Benin, Colombia, and Haiti. Click HERE to donate to SELF today.—
  2. If you’re looking to give back to a solar philanthropy working in the United States, Grid Alternatives could use your support. The organization was founded in 2001 in California and has since opened offices in Colorado and up and down the east coast. In an effort to end poverty, they install solar panels in low-income neighborhoods, allowing families to cut their energy costs and use their income for healthier food or education. 3. Power Up Gambia is a Philadelphia-based non-profit that is working to, well, power up Gambia. The Gambia is a small country located in West Africa. The organization works to improve health care and save lives by powering clinics and hospitals throughout the country. Click HERE to help power up hospitals in the Gambia.
