At their February 2012 meeting, the Lower Makefield Township Board of Supervisors appointed Mark Bortman to the Environmental Advisory Council for a two year term.

Mark Bortman is the President and founder of Exact Solar, a leading installer of solar energy systems in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He is honored to accept the appointment onto the Council. Mr. Bortman stated, “I am very excited to be part of this dynamic group. I look forward to helping Lower Makefield stay on the leading edge of the green building movement.”
The Lower Makefield Township Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) aims to educate, inform, and increase the quality of life for the people who live in the Yardley-Makefield area. In addition to organizing environmentally-focused educational events and speaker series, the EAC works on new regulations regarding the use of native plants at township facilities and for development of buffer zones and stream bank restoration. They also advise on green building initiatives and energy conservation policies for township buildings. The council also awards an environmental stewardship award each year to a group or individual who has made a significant contribution to environmental awareness.
